Identical twin brothers both welcome their first granddaughters on same day

Twin brothers Alan Wells and Brian Wells are used to having shared life experiences. Both had daughters within a year of the other, and more recently both daughters married within months of one another. Now, those two daughters both welcomed their family's first grandchildren on the same day. Precisely two hours apart.

You might say two is a special number for this family.

Alan and Brian's daughters, cousins Abby Lancaster and Rachel Timmons, announced to the family (and each other!) that they were expecting last Thanksgiving over a family Zoom call.

Rachel explained how the call went:

[Abby] called me and was like, 'We have some news,' and I go, 'You have some news? What's your news? [She says] 'Eric and I are pregnant.' [I said] 'Stop, I'm pregnant!'

Abby Lancaster was the first to give birth to her daughter, Georgia Rose Lancaster, on June 16th at 5:07 pm in Reston, Virginia. Then at 7:07 pm, Rachel Timmons welcomed her baby girl, Delilah Lynn Timmons in Indianapolis.

As Rachel's mom explained it, the baby girls are "only separated by 2 hours, 3 ounces, and 598 miles."

Reston Hospital Center, where Georgia Rose Lancaster was born in Virginia, shared the story on its Facebook page:

Congratulations to the Wells-Lancaster-Timmons Family! Maybe next time around, they'll both get twin grandbabies!
