Okay, how many pride flags are there now?
Because I feel like this year the whole pride flag thing has gone absolutely bonkers.
They've got a nonbinary flag, a trans flag, a bisexual flag, an intersex flag; I've even seen people posting their MAP pride (pedophiles) and zoo pride (into animals) flags online. And that's just—am I allowed to say it?—weird.
But now it looks like IKEA, out of all places, has gotten into the pride flag game. And just how does a furniture store do that?
Pride flag love seats of course!
How did you not know that?
So they've got ten loveseats, each themed after a different LGBT flag.
There's more to Pride than a rainbow. That's why we created Love Seats - a collection of IKEA loveseats inspired by the Pride flags of different 2SLGBTQ+ identities. Designed and created by artists active in the 2SLGBTQ+ community, the loveseats are a platform to celebrate identity and share stories of love. See the loveseats and stories below.
You feel free to hit up that webpage. I ain't never going back there.
Okay let's quickly go over all the sofas, shall we:
- 2 spirit loveseat 🤷♂️
- Pansexual loveseat
- Trans loveseat
- Bi loveseat
- Asexual loveseat
- Progress loveseat
- A second trans loveseat (because sure, why not assume there are two genders).
- Lesbian loveseat
- Nonbinary loveseat
- Genderfluid loveseat
Okay, so overall this is very, well... gay. And I mean that in the nicest way possible.
But I still don't see representation for my weird cousin Leroy who identifies as a kitten???
Do better, IKEA.
