Another day, another crime that should have never happened.

On Saturday, two children in the town of Lisbon, Wisconsin, were riding a minibike around 6 p.m. when they were struck by a car. The 8-year-old girl is expected to recover, but the 11-year-old boy remains in critical condition.

In their initial report, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel left out the detail that the suspect is an illegal alien with no driver's license and an immigration detainer hold.

It also incorrectly reported, without any update since, that Alvarez stayed at the scene; at least, according to authorities.

The driver of the vehicle, a 26-year-old woman, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, authorities said.

As claimed by prosecutor Alyssa Jay in the ABC 12 report, Alvarez initially drove away and had to be "flagged down by neighbors."

Just a reminder: Foreigners can't hit your kids if you keep them from illegally entering the country.
