Ummm, guys, I think Illinois may be trying to pass California for the title of the most stupid lib state in the union.

JB Pritzker, the esteemed governor of Illinois, just signed a bill that would allow "non-citizens" (aka illegal aliens) to be employed as police officers.

Yes, foreign law breakers are now going to be allowed to become Illinois law enforcement.

From The Daily Wire:

The law, HB3751, says that foreign nationals who "are legally authorized under federal law to work in the United States" or any foreign national who "is an individual against whom immigration action has been deferred by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services under the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) process" can apply to become a police officer in the state.

Yeah, but that's exactly what the law says quoted there.

Surely the law doesn't mean EXACTLY what it says, right?

I googled it and turned to the FaCt-ChEcKeRs at Newsweek, the first result, to help get to the bottom of this situation. They told me the claim that illegal aliens can become police officers in Illinois "needs context."

I should have guessed all the right-wingers were lying, let's check out the context that Newsweek says this is missing.

You see, some are saying that illegal aliens can now become police in Illinois and that needs context because saying "Illinois will now allow illegal aliens to be police" obviously implies that every single illegal alien in Illinois is now a police officer by decree of the governor.

Or something like that.

You know how stupid Republicans are, after all.

In other words, the news is correct but it makes us look bad, so we're going to call it fake.
