Man, isn't it great that Ukraine has all these drones and weapons we gave them? We're gonna low-key beat the Russkis by [checks notes] starting nuclear armageddon.
Ukraine hasn't formally taken credit for the attacks, but President Zelensky says war is "returning to Russia":
Users analyzing the footage believe the drones are indeed Ukrainian:
Stop and think about this for a second.
War is hell. What Russia is doing is clearly a power grab of Ukraine's resources, and they've killed a lot of civilians in the process.
Ask yourself: Is it just for Ukraine to retaliate by targeting civilian apartment buildings?
At any rate, the Russians are threatening massive escalation after these attacks:
From The Daily Mail:
The Kremlin today bluntly threatened use of nuclear weapons in the wake of the Ukrainian drone strike on Moscow's skyscraper zone.
I feel like Russia pulls out the nuke card anytime it feels angry, but I also think we've forgotten just how unbelievably horrible a nuclear war would be.
Dmitry Medvedev, a former Russian president and Putin ally, has warned there is 'simply no other way out' and said that Kyiv should 'pray to our warriors' that they do not 'allow the global nuclear fire to flare up'.
...
'After all, if we imagine that the offensive of the [Ukrainians] with the support of NATO was successful, and they seized part of our land, then we would have to, by virtue of the rules of the decree of the President of Russia dated 06/02/2020, go for the use of nuclear weapons.
'There is simply no other way out. Therefore, our enemies must pray to our warriors. They do not allow the global nuclear fire to flare up.'
Here's the damage to one of the apartment buildings. There were, thankfully, no casualties:
Two things can be true at once: 1) The invasion of Ukraine by Russia is wrong and should not be tolerated and 2) Ukraine is a corrupt nation and giving it billions in weapons with no oversight is also wrong, especially when our money and weapons target civilians.
