You guys, Illinois is the ninth state in the nation to ban the sale of aSsAuLt wEaPoNs (you know, the scary-looking ones).
The "Protect Illinois Communities Act" passed both the Illinois House and Senate and was signed by Democratic Governor JB Pritzker.
[T]he bill creates an "immediate ban on the sale and possession of defined assault weapons, although current legal owners may continue to keep their weapons under a grandfather clause.
Quick note: Residents will have to register their scary semi-autos with the state government by January 2024 or else become criminals themselves!
Because gun registries have always been used well by governments...

The ban also includes .50-caliber rifles and cartridges and rapid fire devices known as 'switches.' Magazines will have a limit of 10 bullets for long guns and 15 for handguns."

But mark my words, this law won't last long.
The Supreme court has been so 💪🏻 as of late, I'm more than confident this law will make its way right into the hands of those nine justices.
And those men and women have actually read our nation's fine Constitution.
Anyhow…
Three Democratic leaders, Governor Pritzker, Senate President Don Harmon, and House Speaker Chris Welch, said in a statement, "After continued negotiations between the leaders, stakeholders, and advocates, we have reached a deal on one of strongest assault weapon bans in the country. With this legislation we are delivering on the promises Democrats have made and, together, we are making Illinois' gun laws a model for the nation."
This law will mark Illinois as the ninth state to pass a so-called "assault weapons" ban and the fourteenth state in the union to regulate ammo and magazine capacity.
With Republicans holding the U.S. House, the state level is about the only way Democrats can ban guns they think are scary-looking.
And it won't work. It'll backfire. The Supreme Court will strike it down.
Plus, if these bozos really think all the "assault weapons" and "high-capacity magazines" are going to magically disappear from the inner city of Chicago, they're sadly mistaken.
