The only reason I can call this hilarious is because this Los Angeles entrepreneur is such a good sport about it.
Mike Johns was trying to catch a flight out of Phoenix, Arizona, last month and decided to book one of those Waymo self-driving taxis.
Let's see how that went...
Eight times, the car circled the parking lot!!
And they didn't even have a pinata set up for Mr. Johns!

Johns didn't have to contact support on his own, as Waymo recognized the problem and reached out to him first. He ended up only being delayed by five minutes and was luckily able to make his flight back to Los Angeles.
Johns says he's willing to give Waymo another go. And who could blame him? The technology is still in its youth.
I will say this, with all the bad publicity these Waymo cars are getting, I'd still rather ride with AI than with my wife at the wheel.
