Say goodbye to the patriarchy!
While explaining the rules of a card game to her family, a Dutch woman had a very woke epiphany. She realized that by using the traditional deck of cards (that has been around for centuries) she was reinforcing the male-dominated, patriarchal society.
Indy Mellink, a Dutch card fan, was explaining a game to her cousins last summer when she asked herself: why should a king be worth more than a queen?
The 23-year-old forensic psychology graduate, encouraged by her father, decided it was time to break with the centuries-old tradition of sexual inequality in playing card decks that rank men above women.
Yes, sexual inequality is finally going to be snuffed out because we are going to replace the traditional card deck with the king, queen, jack face cards, with gold, silver, and bronze.
"If we have this hierarchy that the king is worth more than the queen then this subtle inequality influences people in their daily life because it's just another way of saying ‘hey, you're less important," she said in an interview. "Even subtle inequalities like this do play a big role."
This is what those who believe wholeheartedly in intersectionality and critical-theory truly think. "Subtle inequalities" supposedly play a big role in society. What big role do they play? No one can say, there's no real-life problem that is caused. It just, according to the "woke," contributes to a generally patriarchal society.
In the crazy woke world of the left, removing things like kings and queens on playing cards is the battle that needs to be fought. This is a symptom of a society that is completely obsessed with identity. The boogeyman of the patriarchy terrifies you, even when it actually in no way affects you.
If you are offended by kings and queens on playing cards, may I suggest you may not be playing with a full deck, so to speak.
If you are obsessed with identity politics you will ALWAYS find something to be offended by.
