Israel is rolling up to its 4th COVID shot and meanwhile it's got the highest per-capita rate of COVID cases in the entire world 🤷
· Jan 21, 2022 · NottheBee.com

We learned earlier this week that scientists in Israel are already testing out a fourth COVID shot on patients in a desperate attempt to see if four shots will work better than three:

What's that definition of insanity again?

Meanwhile, fresh from the country's third round of vax injections, Israel is also posting... the highest per-capita COVID case rate in the known world:

Israel is leading the world in new daily COVID-19 cases per capita, data showed Thursday.

Speaking to Channel 12 news, a top health expert advising the government cited figures from Our World in Data showing 0.6 percent of the population was testing positive per day.

The numbers comparing each country's seven-day running average put Israel at the top, Prof. Eran Segal of The Weizmann Institute said.

Hmmm.

If I were a cynical man, I'd conclude that cases can skyrocket even in the presence of extremely high vaccination rates, even though we were told repeatedly last year that the vaccines were a miraculous cure-all that would render coronaviruses surges a thing of the past!

Ah, who really knows for sure though? To its credit, Israel seems to be abandoning a lot of the hardline COVID rules for which it's been famous for the past two years:

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett announced Thursday that mandatory quarantine for schoolchildren who were exposed to coronavirus carriers would be scrapped entirely.

According to the plan, starting next Thursday, children up to the age of 18 will no longer need to isolate after being exposed.

Instead, all students — both vaccinated and unvaccinated — will need to conduct two antigen tests a week — on Sundays and Wednesdays — and present negative results when entering educational institution.

So they're dropping the school-aged quarantine requirements, but the kids will still have to take regular tests to determine if they're carrying a disease that poses statistically very very little threat to them.

You're (kinda) moving in the right direction, Israel. Keep moving!
