Thousands of years of heroes, villains, risk-takers, and pioneers has led to this moment:
Yep. Western civilization has been built on the backs of countless fathers, mothers, theologians, philosophers, warriors, scientists, artists, teachers, explorers, inventors, farmers, and craftsmen. It saw Beethoven, Shakespeare, Kepler, the Magna Carta, Locke, Luther, Newton, Pascal – and that only in the past few centuries. Most importantly, it brought about a revolution in ethics and the hope of life found in Jesus Christ.
Yet on the shoulders of those giants – people who faced death boldly, whether by sword or by sea, famine or plague – we've come to a sad final destination where we stuff our kids in bubbles at the expense of lives actually worth living!
It‘s been a good run, ya'll!
I wonder what the inventors of all those instruments would have thought about this madness...
Here was a sad quote from the principle of this Washington school about how shutdowns have affected kids:
"I will say the damage is extensive. When we talk about social-emotional damage, we will be dealing with these scars for many years."
I guess T.S. Eliot was right. We are the hollow men and the world ends with a whimper.
