Jack Dorsey deletes Instagram, says he's "Meta free"

I guess we know who Jack backs in the Musk-Zuck fight (if it ever actually happens).

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey announced on Friday via X (formerly Twitter) that he deleted his Instagram account. X owner Elon Musk replied to the post with one fire emoji.

When asked for "reasons" why he deleted his Instagram, Dorsey said the reasons are "too meta to be interesting."

Get it?

Dorsey seemingly claimed to be "[M]eta free" in another reply to his original post, stating he does not have accounts for Facebook or WhatsApp (both owned by Meta). He also said WhatsApp is "compromised," possibly referring to the app's user privacy and security.

Another X user asked Dorsey how "comfortable" he feels using an Apple iPhone regarding "data being transferred within iOS" (iPhone's operating system). Dorsey replied that he "generally trust[s] Apple more than others given their business model and stated values."

Dorsey asked "who will [Meta] give the @jack handle to on Instagram," and these were some of the suggestions he received:
