James Corden is leaving his hosting gig on the Late Late Show on CBS. Finally.

It's a great day for America, everybody!

James Corden has announced that he is leaving the Late Late Show on CBS.

After 8 and a half years of polluting our TV sets, TMZ is reporting that the least funny and most annoying person in the English-speaking world is finally retiring from his late-night gig.

In a late-night TV lineup that includes Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, and Seth Meyers, somehow James Corden is still the worst late-night host on television today. And quite possibly of all-time.

Corden has the one positive that he's not as openly political as some hosts, but he makes up for it by attempting and failing to be funny.

At least Colbert isn't trying to be funny anymore. Is he?

Anyways, where do I start with the absolute disaster that is James Corden?

The man is not funny. He does not have a funny bone in his entire body.

His one big thing from his show is the "Carpool Karaoke" segment where he gets actually talented musicians, and some untalented pop stars, in a car with him to sing some of the musicians' hits.

It's James Corden singing along like an idiot with the people who actually sing the song.

Here's an example:

Thank you James Corden for giving us the absolute worst version of a popular song ever recorded.

There's no humor. There's no gag. It's celebrities singing in a car.

Absolute rubbish.

James Corden has never said a word to make me laugh.

There are a couple of real tragedies in this James Corden story.

First, it's the obvious fact that CBS Late Late Show replaced perhaps the most fun, hilarious, and original late-night host of all time, Craig Ferguson, with James Corden who, again, couldn't get me to crack a smile if both our lives depended on it.

Craig Ferguson hosted the Late Late Show before James Corden and let me tell you something, there is no one as weird and original as Craig Ferguson.

You know the Babylon Bee podcast where they put random words to dub over swear words? Yeah, that's a Craig Ferguson bit.

He had puppets, lip-syncing musical numbers, stereotypically gay robot skeletons, and was maybe the best interviewer on late-night TV since Dick Cavett.

Of course, CBS won't let me upload any of the bootlegged videos, but just a taste of what you missed if you didn't see Craig Ferguson's show can be found here, here, and here.

Craig Ferguson is a comedic genius.

The quickest wit in late-night history.

The other great tragedy of the James Corden era is that his show was actually fairly popular.

This really is a reflection of how far we have fallen as a civilization.

From Daily Caller:

Craig Ferguson hosted "The Late Late Show" for nine years before passing the baton to Corden in March 2015. Corden added his own signature flair to the show by introducing viral segments such as "Carpool Karaoke," and "Drop the Mic," which added a new dynamic to the show, and was met with rave reviews and sky-high viewership, Deadline noted.

Corden's Carpool Karaoke segment featuring Adele has been watched well over 250 million times on YouTube, and the YouTube page for "The Late Late Show" has nearly 10 billion views and over 27 million subscribers, making it the second highest show in late-night television, according to Deadline.

Unbelievable.

Who are these MILLIONS of people who are looking up James Corden??

He's an overweight guy with a British accent and people think that's charming.

It isn't.

Give me a Scottish dude with an undeniable sense of humor who throws candy at the camera and lip-syncs to classic rock tunes.

James Corden is leaving.

Bring back Craig Ferguson.
