Jamie Lee Curtis says she and her husband "watched in wonder and pride as our son Thomas became our daughter Ruby"

Welp.

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis, 75, recently said she and her husband have "watched in wonder and pride as [their] son became [their] daughter Ruby."

That's right. All they did was watch. They didn't teach or help their son in any way parents are supposed to do.

Curtis said this in a recent feature interview with AARP when describing "the practice of letting go" as she has advanced in years.

"Possibly one of the biggest 'old ideas' that Curtis has shed recently is the notion that gender is fixed," AARP writes. "[Curtis'] life, these days, is what Curtis describes as a 'constant metamorphosis.'"

Ruby, a biological male, originally named Thomas, is a 25-year-old computer gaming editor. He plans to marry his fiancé next year at a wedding officiated by his mom (Jamie Lee Curtis) -- because of course.

"I think social media is poison for young people," Curtis said elsewhere in the interview. "They don't know yet how to discern what's real and what's fake, what is kind and what is mean."

Young people don't know "how to discern what's real and what's fake," you say? Hmmm...

What an utterly ironic statement, given the circumstances.
