My Irony meter is currently charting levels never seen before by man:

Yes, that's Jeff Bezos responding to a New York Times reporter (because of course) who suggested Elon's control of Twitter would actually benefit the commies.

• You know, Jeff Bezos... the guy in a running battle for richest man on the planet alongside Elon.
• The guy who started a massive online marketplace for Chinese goods and influence to flood American cities and shutter American businesses.
• The guy who bought The Washington Post in 2013 and turned it into a goon squad that runs hits on private citizens who repost TikTok videos.

That's the man who is asking if Elon's purchase of Twitter will give the Chinese government more influence over free speech.

You know, as opposed to current Twitter, where a sitting U.S. president was (and remains) banned while multiple Chinese communist tyrants continue to fire off whatever the new Party line is for the day.

It totally doesn't seem like China had influence when they were allowed to say America started the pandemic while random users in Ohio were being banned for suggesting Covid leaked from the Wuhan lab!

At least Bezos walked it back (if he was trying to troll the Dogelord, he failed):
