Joe Biden reportedly told Al Sharpton that, yes, he is going to run again in 2024

Let's see, it's now October so Biden has decided, again, that he is going to run for re-election in 2024.

At least, that's what he thinks this week until he's told to walk it back again in a few weeks.

From NBC News:

President Joe Biden told the Rev. Al Sharpton that he will seek a second term in a private conversation at the White House last month, Sharpton informed his National Action Network staff in Washington later that day.

"I'm going to do it again," Biden said as he posed for a photograph in the Roosevelt Room with Sharpton, who is also an MSNBC host, according to an official of Sharpton's National Action Network who recounted Sharpton's description. "I'm going."

I guess since he's announced it to race hustler Al Sharpton that's as good as official.

According to the story, this happened last month at a meeting in the White House.

It was in the context of his 2020 race that Biden confided in Sharpton at the Sept. 2 White House meeting. During a group conversation, Sharpton reminded Biden that the two had sat down in January 2019 on the sidelines of an event commemorating Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday. At the time, Biden had not yet declared his candidacy and was seeking Sharpton's endorsement โ€” or at least a pledge of neutrality โ€” in a field that would include now-Vice President Kamala Harris and Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., both of whom are Black.

Then, Biden solicited Sharpton's advice on running in 2020, avoiding a definitive declaration that he would contend. But, as Sharpton recounted for the group at the White House, that conversation nearly four years ago convinced him he was among the first to know that Biden would ultimately run.

When the civil rights meeting wrapped up, Sharpton made his way over to Biden for a one-on-one photo.

Biden told Sharpton he was right that he was among the first to know about the 2020 bid. Then he told Sharpton he was going to "do it again," Sharpton told his aides.

Biden's entire political strategy is heavily relying on the black vote, so he apparently thinks he needs the approval of Al Sharpton before contending for the presidency.

So, I guess Joe, for now, thinks he's going to run in 2024 at the ripe old age of 82.

This news comes after the president made news on "60 Minutes" saying he didn't know if he'd run again in '24.
