President Biden just announced that he is going to pardon all prior federal marijuana possession offenses.
Also, in solidarity with pot users, Joe Biden plans to forget what he said about the subject, lie down and take a nap.
I am sure this will get all the hippies off their couches and to the polls come election time!

Biden, however, does not have the power to legalize the illicit drug, although he has called for efforts to make this the case.
This will come as tough news for Kamala Harris who rose to power by putting potheads in the slammer in California.
Seriously, Biden's signature act is to undo Kamala's one actual accomplishment. It's just too sweet.
It is indeed very kind of Biden to release all of the folks Kamala threw in jail in California.
There are, of course, other theories as to why Biden is making this choice now:

This, of course, affects very few people. With marijuana being blamed for mass incarceration, the numbers show that only 0.7% of prisoners in the US are held for simple possession, the only crime that Biden is pardoning.
Nice try to buy a few more votes this November, Joe!
