Why do you think a judge just set Trump's trial date to next May, right before general election season?

I think my featured image gave it away.

A Florida judge has set the trial date for Trump's document case for May 20, 2024. This would be right as the primary election season heads for a close and the general election campaign really kicks off.

It's almost as if it's deliberately planned to help Trump win the primary and then get convicted right before the general election. A move that would nearly guarantee a Democrat victory in 2024!

The ruling comes days after Trump's team argued the trial should be held after the 2024 November election due to the former president's reelection campaign. The prosecution had requested the trial to begin in late 2023, making Cannon's ruling an apparent compromise between the two parties.

So, the "compromise" is to hold the trial before the 2024 election so that Trump will be under the maximum possible scrutiny right before the July Republican National Convention.

If the script was to get Biden re-elected I don't know how they could write it up any better.

This extraordinary case presents a serious challenge to both the fact and perception of our American democracy. The Court now presides over a prosecution advanced by the administration of a sitting President against his chief political rival, himself a leading candidate for the Presidency of the United States," attorneys for Trump and Nauta argued in a filing Monday night.

One thing is certain, the Biden admin wants Trump to go to court as many times as possible BEFORE the 2024 election.

This is shaping up to be an election cycle like no other.
