Last week, we learned that Kamala Harris didn't choose Pete Buttigieg to be her running mate because Pete is gay and she thought that would hurt her chances.
Sho she picked ... Tim Walz instead.
The fact that a liberal black woman discriminated against a gay man in her identity politics analysis is not sitting well with liberals.
To clarify the comment from her new book, she went on Rachel Maddow's MSNBC show to explain that she didn't actually discriminate against Pete because he is gay. She just decided not to pick him specifically because ... he's gay.
No, no, no, that's not what I said, that he couldn't be on the ticket because he is gay. My point as I write in the book is that I was clear that, in a hundred and seven days in one of the most hotly contested elections for president of the United States against someone like Donald Trump, who knows no floor, to be a black woman running for president of the United States, and as a vice presidential running mate, a gay man, with the stakes being so high, it made me very sad but I also realized it would be a real risk.
DID Y'ALL MISS HER WORD SALADS?
Thanks for clearing that up, Kamala!
