To the surprise of no one, professing worshipers of the devil are facing allegations of doing something evil, as a Kansas archbishop accused Satanists of stealing wafers and wine to use in their upcoming state-sponsored "Black Mass."

The already controversial ceremony faced new outrage from conservatives and religious groups after the "worshipers" were accused of absconding with elements of Holy Communion.

From The New York Post:

Kansas City Catholic Archbishop Joseph Naumann sued Satanic Grotto leaders Travis Roberts and Michael Stewart in Leavenworth District Court Friday, accusing them of using 'theft, fraud, deception, wrongful taking, or other form of misappropriation' to obtain the holy host and wine.

'Consecrated Hosts and Wine are in fact the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ,' Naumann's filing read, explaining that such sacred objects could only ever fall into Satanists' hands through devilish design.

For their part, the Satanists have denied any wrongdoing.

But the lord of darkness had nothing to do with it, according to Satanist Michael Stewart, who told the Kansas City Star that his sacred snacks 'came from Pope Amazon' — meaning he bought them online.

Stewart also brushed aside virulent reactions that his group's plans for the March 28 Black Mass — a sort of inverted Catholic service he described as "a cathartic expression of sorrow, rage, and healing" — have inflamed.

'You're going to see a book get torn, a cross get broken, a cracker get crunched, and wine get drunk, and that is the scariest bit of what we were planning to do,' Stewart said.

No, sir, the "scariest part" of what you're planning to do is the utter contempt you're showing for the Almighty God.

"Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap." — Galatians 6:7-8
