The failed assassination attempt on Trump was definitely not the end of the craziness for this election season; in fact, it looks like it may have been just the beginning.
On day two of the Republican National Convention, a homeless man named Sam rushed the police line wielding steak knives.
According to another homeless man who was friends with Sam, the man apparently heard voices that told him it was time for him to die, and this was how he was supposed to go out.
Sam was shot to death by the police.
This was the bodycam footage with the actual shooting edited out so you don't have to see the graphic stuff:
The whole thing is both creepy and scary and somewhat reminiscent of the guy that tried to assassinate Trump back in 2017. He also heard voices that told him to kill the president, and then he tried to grab an officer's gun at a rally.
‘I was hearing voices telling me to kill Donald Trump,' he told the Sun.
‘They'd been coming on for a while and getting stronger and more frequent. At one point they were screaming at me.'
But at 2024's RNC, the homeless guy's death did not end the attempts to breach the security line. Later in the day, another man showed up wearing a ski mask and carrying a compact AK-style rifle with an extra magazine in a backpack.
The unidentified man was detained by Homeland Security and turned over to local police, who say that his intentions were "unclear."
Unclear?
Dude shows up with a ski mask and a Draco? I think his intentions were pretty clear.
But since the police couldn't tell, they picked him up on not having a conceal and carry license in Wisconsin or any other state.
Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office, police said.
Glad they didn't find this guy a cozy slope to perch on this time.
Keep praying for this election season, and for the safety of all the candidates. It's nuts out there.
