There's been a MAJOR update in the case of Josh Kruger, the Philadelphia journalist who was murdered last week.
We told you then about the Philadelphia journalist who mocked cartoonist Scott Adams' predictions about crime and then was murdered in his home less than 2 days later.
Well, it turns out that Kruger may have been wrong about the danger of crime, but we may also have been wrong to assume this was just some random act of robbery driven by ironic fate.
Well, it wasn't random but it did have irony:
Yes, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the family of accused-killer Robert Davis is alleging that Davis was actively being blackmailed by LGBT activist journalist Kruger with sexually explicit pictures and that Kruger had taken.
Even worse, Kruger had begun a drug-fueled sexual relationship with Davis four years ago when Robert Davis was only 15 years old and Kruger was in his 30s, according to the family.
The family alleges that Kruger lured Davis for sex with the promise of feeding his drug habit in return, and then Kruger kept sexually explicit images of Davis to blackmail him.
Recent revelations from police bring credibility to this accusation:
The family's contentions come as detectives separately discovered and are investigating what multiple law enforcement sources have called explicit photos and messages in Kruger's phone. The sources, who requested anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation, did not say whether the images or messages were connected to Davis, but said they were "disturbing" and have been turned over to the department's Special Victims Unit for further analysis.
Yeah, the dude almost certainly had child porn on his phone.
Here's the ironic part: He spent YEARS as an LGBT activist who blasted the stereotype that gay men are pedophiles:
The journo doth protest too much, methinks!
He tweeted some of these things while he was allegedly grooming Davis!
Kruger was not only a journalist, but he worked for the city - including the Office of Homeless Services from 2015 to 2020, which is likely when he met Davis, according to Davis' mother and brother.
Davis, for his part, was not forthcoming about the relationship and had lied for years that he was seeing a woman when he was really seeing Kruger.
The entire tale is one messed up, sordid, disgusting affair: Lies, deceit, drugs, prostitution, the whole nine yards.
Davis, the man wanted for the murder of Kruger, is still on the lam and hasn't turned himself in to the police. But the police are hoping Davis will turn himself in or be captured so they can get to the bottom of the case.
We'll keep you updated if there are any more details that come to light.
