It looks like even the most left-wing states in the union are starting to realize that the continual muzzling of children in schools is a losing issue.
The three left coast states – California, Oregon, and Washington – are all set to finally drop their insane school masking policy, in accordance with the (political) science.
All three states are simultaneously suspending the indoor mask requirements on March 11, because Covid can still spread on the 10th, I guess.
In California, starting March 1, masks will no longer be required for unvaccinated individuals, but will be strongly recommended for all individuals in most indoor settings. After March 11, in schools and child care facilities, masks will not be required but will be strongly recommended. Masks will still be required for everyone in high transmission settings like public transit, emergency shelters, health care settings, correctional facilities, homeless shelters and long-term care facilities.
It's a step in the right direction, only a year and a half too late.
Here's what Washington Governor Jay Inslee said about this change:
We've continued to monitor data from our state Department of Health, and have determined we are able to adjust the timing of our statewide mask requirement. While this represents another step forward for Washingtonians, we must still be mindful that many within our communities remain vulnerable. Many businesses and families will continue choosing to wear masks, because we've learned how effective they are at keeping one another safe. As we transition to this next phase, we will continue to move forward together carefully and cautiously.
All three of these governors cite "the science" in determining to end the mandates, but no actual science is EVER cited. Not even once.
It couldn't be because there is no science, and Dems are just changing their masking policy on the basis of bad internal polling, right?
Oh.
Well, at least the results are positive, even if the gaslighting coming from the Democrats is strong.
