I love it when lefties do the absolute bare minimum and then sing like the Pharisees in the streets about how virtuous they are compared to other people:
Woke liberals the second they have to face a crisis created by the leaders they voted for:
Five seconds later:
From the CNN article:
After sharing hugs and teary goodbyes with roughly 50 migrants who had arrived unexpectedly by plane on this affluent vacation island, the volunteers who sheltered them at an Episcopal church carried out tables and chairs, packed food onto trucks and folded portable cots.
A familiar quiet had descended by Friday afternoon on the tree-lined downtown block on Martha's Vineyard, where Jackie Stallings, 56, could not stop thinking about a young Venezuelan -- she was 23 but looked 15 -- who sat with her in the St. Andrew's Parish House the night before.
See, she had to think about her in the past tense because she and her neighbors bused those dirty migrants off their island as fast as humanly possible!!
During their whirlwind [LOL] 44-hour visit this week, migrants like the young Venezuelan woman left an indelible mark on their accidental hosts in this isolated enclave known as a summer playground for former US presidents, celebrities and billionaires.
The entire article is about the rich white "hosts" on their elite island!
Almost none of it is about the ACTUAL PEOPLE WHO MARCHED THROUGH SWAMPS AND DESERTS AT THE BEHEST OF THE CARTELS TO GET TO AMERICA.
(There's a few paragraphs about them buried deep in there somewhere.)
Amazing.
Look at this photo:
That poor, poor man.
He had to deal with those poor illegal aliens for nearly two days!
Someone should give him a book deal.
Lisa Belcastro, winter shelter coordinator for the Harbor Homes nonprofit, was close to tears about an hour after the migrants left the island on Friday, with volunteers beginning to clean up the parish house and church hall where the newcomers slept.
Ah, yes, I too cry when I have to provide emergency shelter for people in need for like a solid day.
What about the illegal aliens, you ask?
I dunno, they're probably okay in a parking lot or military base somewhere.
"I want them to have a good life," she said. "I want the journey they experienced and the hardships they experienced to have been worth it for them and their families. I want them to come to America and be embraced. They all want to work. And I just I want their journey to have a happy ending."
Just not a happy ending in Martha's Vineyard!
"I wish them a happy ending literally anywhere besides the place where I live."
🤣🤣🤣
Jackie Stallings said she hopes to visit the migrants at the Cape Cod base, a temporary accommodation.
...
"I kept telling them it was like a dormitory. I didn't want to say you're going to a military base," she said. "We want to go make sure they're OK."
They didn't even level with them about where they were sending them!
😭
"We love you all, but we don't want you here and also we're gonna lie to your face about where we're sending y'all."
Truly, truly amazing.
This story about the shellshocked rich hosts is over 2,000 words long, by the way.
Rachel Self, an immigration attorney from Boston, also drew applause.
"We've got their backs and they are not alone. And to that end, I would like to specifically thank Trader Fred for donating underwear because Martha's Vineyard doesn't have a Walmart down the street," she said, referring to the migrants and a local retailer who stepped up to help them.
A bystander suddenly tossed a bag of chocolates.
They've "got their backs."
And by that, they mean they gave them some underwear and some chocolate and then shipped them off to a military base before giving themselves a pat on the back over a glass of wine!
