How does this even happen?

Apparently, the giant water monitor lizard barged into this 7-Eleven in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand on Tuesday after climbing out of a nearby canal.

Customers reportedly hid behind the counter as Lil' Godzilla went on his rampage and hunted for snacks.

"I guess that shops have everything, even for lizards," said one of the people at the scene.

A group of local lizard wranglers (cause why not?) managed to drag the thing outside and tell it to git.

I imagine their backup plan was to call in an ape of equal size and have them fight while citizens ran around in terror.
