Someone actually wrote and published this:
Nope, not even close.
A record heat wave is pushing California's electric grid up against the point of failure this week, with officials pointing to climate change for putting continued stress on the system.
The California grid is only overworked because leftist politicians have been pushing toward energy policies that make zero sense for decades.
- Shut down nuclear plants? Check.
- Push solar and wind infrastructure that can't sustain diddly squat in order to appear hip and cool? Check.
- Disincentivize the repair of aging power lines that tends to fail or spark and cause hundreds of wildfires by pushing companies to invest in green energy instead of maintaining current infrastructure? Check.
The California energy problem is manmade. It has nothing to do with climate change.
"Climate change is causing unprecedented stress on California's energy system," Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) said in a statement last week while signing a bill to extend the life of a controversial nuclear power plant.
He wants you believe this!
And The Hill wants you to believe it too!
The weather is killing our energy grid so we need to temporarily extend the life of the most abundant and clean energy source known to man so that we can abandon it and install Chinese solar panels made by slaves.
Are they really this dumb?
From the Hoover Institution:
Under California law, 33 percent of electricity produced in California must come from renewable sources. The three main forms of renewable energy are solar, wind, and hydropower. In September 2018, Democratic California governor Jerry Brown signed a bill to increase that number to 50 percent by 2025, 60 percent by 2030, and 100 percent by 2045. Brown left office less than four months later, on January 7, 2019. Brown, who is now eighty-two years old, need not worry much about the mess that he and the legislature created. Current Democratic governor Gavin Newsom, and we California residents, do.
Californians, you want to know the last time the rest of America experienced a brownout?
Really. Never! From sea to shining sea, most Americans don't live in a 3rd-World nation like you. Here in Michigan, despite the stupid decisions of its leftist leaders who want to be like Gavin Newsom, I have power 99.99% of the time.
So did your Californian grandparents back in the '60s!
Heck, I've traveled the world a bit, and from Jordan to Ethiopia, I never once had issues with electricity, despite being in rural deserts or urban jungles in developing areas where you were more likely to be killed by an Islamist militant than lose your AC.
But back to California:
"We are on razor thin margins," Siva Gunda, vice chairman of the California Energy Commission, told the Sacramento Bee.
It's like watching a captain blow holes in the hull of his own ship, blame the incoming water on the weather, then demand his passengers give him more money so he can afford some dynamite to "fix" the issue.
And you Californians keep voting for it! 🤣😭
