Disney wants you to know they stand for diVeRsiTy and iNcLuSioN.
Unless you disagree with any point of Wokeism for any period of time, that is.
Gina Carano – pro MMA fighter and actress on the hit Star Wars show, The Mandalorian – was fired by Disney on Wednesday over an Instagram post they said was "abhorrent and unacceptable."
If you're not familiar with Gina or her character "Cara Dune," here's a summary:
In the offending post, Gina shared a supposedly "anti-Semitic" picture with a quote that opined how the first step toward the horrors of Nazi Germany is the government teaching citizens to hate their neighbors.
See if you can find the alleged anti-Semitism hate here:
"Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children.
Because history is edited, most people today don't realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?"
Gina has been under fire from the Left for months - ever since she was harassed by trolls over her lack of "pronouns" in her Twitter bio. They wanted to force her to use pronouns or crucify her.
Out of frustration at such ridiculous demands, Gina hilariously changed her pronouns to "beep/bop/boop" in reference to R2D2.
For that, she was called a transphobic pile of alt-right garbage.
Again, I will let you use your eyes, and hopefully your functioning pre-frontal cortex, to discern if her actions and words were hateful:
"They're mad cuz I won't put pronouns in my bio to show my support for trans lives," said Gina in September. "After months of harassing me in every way. I decided to put 3 VERY controversial words in my bio... beep/bop/boop. I'm not against trans lives at all. They need to find less abusive representation."
Translation: Live your lives and stop bothering me.
With the swarm of Woke stormtroopers alerted to the fact that someone, somewhere believes different things than them, Gina's head was put on the chopping block.
The problem was escalated when Gina decided to share non-left positions on the election and cancel culture, which apparently offended the Disney Empire.
Here‘s the problem. While I agree that a company has the right to fire an employee for making public statements that bring negative PR, such companies need to apply those standards equally.
Disney does not and has not.
If you are a conservative who thinks our elections need more accountability and that cancel culture is leading us to repeat the horrors of the 20th century – welp, you get cancelled.
But what if you are Gina's co-Star, Pedro Pascal, the Mandalorian himself, comparing Trump's immigration policies to Nazi Germany? Seems that would be fireable too, right??
Even though the photo in this pic isn't from 2018 or from America, Disney can't fire a man who just celebrated his brother's decision to identify as trans. That would be unthinkable!
But what if you were a Disney producer that posted about THROWING THE CHILDREN OF TRUMP VOTERS INTO WOOD CHIPPERS?
Even Luke Skywalker himself has shown repeated distain and disgust on a weekly basis for conservatives:
The fake outrage and cancelling continues, and Disney won't wait a second to capitulate to the Woke while continuing to support actual evil institutions like the Communist Party of China:
Even author Christian Schneider, who believes her posts were "abhorrent," admitted "if what she was tweeting was just as crazy, but on the left, she'd still be working for Lucasfilm."
The backlash to this move was (fortunately) massive and swift. "#CancelDisneyPlus" went trending on Twitter. I am just one of the people who followed through on that call to action.
Ya done messed up, Disney.
Remember, powerful female characters are needed - but only when they toe the ideological line and don't tick off the hypocritical men that run the company.
As Anakin Skywalker once said, congratulations on establishing peace and security for your new empire.
