Man accused of running multi-state brothel ring allegedly got $550,000 in taxpayer Covid money

Your tax dollars at work, ladies and gentlemen!

An Asian-American California resident, James Lee, was one of three people arrested in Massachusetts for running a multi-state brothel ring and, according to the latest reports from the case, your super-important Covid-relief tax dollars (that virtually everyone in Congress voted for) helped fund this sex ring.

Okay, maybe you didn't see this EXACT case coming, but everyone knew that the free money scheme would turn out to be bad.

Lee rented or leased spaces for brothels in Virginia and Massachusetts and, according to reports, the sham "businesses" under Lee's name or one of his aliases, which were brothels and sex trade services, received $550,000 in Covid-19 relief funds.

According to the motion, Lee's personal and business bank accounts have received more than $550,000 in COVID-19 relief funds meant to keep struggling companies afloat at the height of the pandemic.

We, the taxpayers, apparently paid this dude more than half a million to run a ring of high-end brothels!

The activity in his various accounts "does not appear commensurate with the listed purposes of his businesses," prosecutors said.

"I therefore believe that [Lee] utilized these accounts to conceal and disguise illicit proceeds of the prostitution business, in addition to possible fraudulently obtained Covid-19 related relief funds," prosecutors said.

Prosecutors say in addition to the sex slave trade, Lee was lying to the government to get free money.

Lee and his associates were arrested in Massachusetts and will face trial for what prosecutors believe to be an international sex trafficking case.
