Maaaaan, this is sobering.

Here's Capitol Police officer Michael Fanone retelling the moment when he was swarmed by rioters and someone tried to get his gun.

He says he heard someone shout "Shoot him with his own gun!"

It's fascinating to hear him talk about how he considered opening fire. Dude ended up having to plead with them not to kill him, before some people stepped in to protect him until his partner reached him, pulling him to safety. Based on what he says at the end, you can tell he has some, umm, mixed feelings about even the people who saved him.

Scary stuff.
