Well, I guess we're going to go through this Speaker of the House circus all over again, aren't we?
Yeah, Marjorie Taylor Greene woke up this morning and chose to throw bombs.
Here's the story from Axios:
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Friday introduced a motion to vacate against House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), threatening a vote to remove him.
Why it matters: Greene isn't yet forcing the vote to remove Johnson as speaker — but the move lays the groundwork for one.
Johnson is working to make a move to pass an extremely large omnibus spending bill to avoid a government shutdown. The more conservative wing represented by Greene doesn't care about a shutdown and would prefer the Speaker to not give in on the issue.
So, we aren't to the "vote him out" phase yet, but there's definite trouble in paradise on the Republican side of the aisle.
