McDonald's Employee in Iowa Hit with Sledgehammer, Run Over by Truck

McDonald's employee Steven Pearl is recovering after an incident in the parking lot of McDonald's where he was hit with a sledgehammer and then run over by a truck.

This wild story took place in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and involved two men who claimed that Pearl had been involved in a burglary.

Pearl was confronted in the restaurant's parking lot by Christian Allen Davalos, 18, and another man, over a burglary the pair accused him of committing, according to a criminal complaint filed in Webster County and as reported by KCC.

Security footage shows Davalos hitting Pearl with a sledgehammer he grabbed from his truck during the confrontation.

While fleeing the scene, Davalos and the other man intentionally struck Pearl with his pickup truck, police said.

Davalos has since been charged with assault while displaying a dangerous weapon.

According to the news reports Pearl is recovering and it looks like he'll turn out fine.

It seems like there's more to this story, but could it possibly be a coincidence that this would happen at the same time the McRib is back? I mean, I know some people who would go to great lengths to get their hands on the tasty seasonal treat.

But mostly it looks like punk kids being punk kids.
