American culinary traditions are not very well-regarded throughout much of the world—we're mostly known for things like ketchup and chicken nuggets, not exactly a Michelin-star lineup.
McDonald's, meanwhile, appears to want to cement that ignominious representation by offering its Spanish customers this bizarre abomination of a burger:
McDonald's Spain is offering this new delectable sandwich for a limited time under its Tex-Mex menu lineup. As posted on the restaurant's website, the authentic Tex-Mex flavor arrives at McDonald's, and four food items are available. In addition to the Grand McExtreme Nachos burger, there is also the double version with two beef patties, Nachos with Cheese Sauce, and the McShaker Fries.
The new burger is made with juicy beef patty, tomato, onion, cheddar cheese sauce, and nachos on top. The sandwich is served with the McDonald's signature sesame seed toasted buns. Customers can order the new Grand McExtreme Nachos burger a la carte or part of a meal where the cheesy nachos, McShaker Fries, and a drink are all included.
Okay, so, if I'm reading this correctly, when you order this burger you get nachos slopped on top of your burger but also a side of nachos? Is that correct? You get the nachos on your burger and also next to your burger?
I mean...nachos aren't even Spanish. They're Mexican. I'm not saying you can't eat nachos in Spain. I'm just saying it doesn't make a lot of sense to release a Mexican menu item exclusively in Spain. It's odd.
Am I saying I wouldn't eat the Grand McExtreme Nachos burger? Of course not! I'd give it a shot.
