This recording originally made the rounds in the form of an audiocassette tape (kids, ask your parents about those) before it was uploaded to the internet in 2007 and went viral.

Who is the mystery man behind this hilariously awful rendition of a Christmas classic? A man named Steve Mauldin, who is an accomplished musician and arranger. The track was originally recorded for Christ Church Choir, which featured the beautiful voice of Guy Penrod. But as a joke, Steve recorded his own hilarious attempt at the song, and the rest was history.
