Methodist pastrix says we should call God "Our Grandmother" or "Our Coach" because “Father” is triggering

What religion is this?

Whether you pray 'Our Father in heaven,' or 'Our mother in heaven,' or 'Our parent in heaven,' it makes no difference in terms of the prayer itself.

The Apostle Paul is quite literally rolling over in his grave right now.

God, by His own Word, is OUR FATHER. Jesus refers to God as "Father" more than 100 times and explicitly teaches his disciples to pray in that name. It DOES make a difference.

If you pray to "grandma," then you are praying to another god.

It can make a tremendous difference in the life of the one who is praying. For those with strained or non-existent relations with a parent, being forced to pray to God in a way that brings up that painful familial relationship can have harmful consequences.

Ah, the god of empathy.

This "pastor" is more sensitive to the hurting world than God the Father Himself, don't ya know!

It can even be something like 'Our sunday school teacher.' 'Our grandmother,' 'Our coach,' 'Our mentor.'

Whatever will elicit from you this sense of belovedness.

Yeah, or maybe lady preacher, just stick to the Word of God and what it tells us.
