Former VP Mike Pence gave his first public address on Thursday since leaving office.
You can find the full speech in South Carolina here.
Pence started by going through the usual reminder of what the Trump administration did over the last four years. NOTE WELL how he referred to the "Trump-Pence administration" and used the terms "we" and "our" when listing off accomplishments (i.e. "In our first three years we revived our economy...") instead of giving all credit to Trump like he has always done before:
Here were a few other highlights:
"I must tell you: it was perhaps my highest honor, when as the President of the Senate, I was able to cast the tie-breaking vote to defund Planned Parenthood in states across America."
"You know, as I've traveled all across this country, I've become convinced more than ever of two things. My time as vice president and my time in public life. This is a freedom loving nation. And this is a nation of faith. It truly is."
He, of course, took direct aim at Biden for much of his speech:
"In just 100 days, the Biden-Harris Administration has launched an avalanche of liberal polices that threaten to derail all the progress that we made."
"President Biden has launched an explosion of runaway spending, to the tune of $6 trillion and counting."
"They used COVID relief to fund a massive expansion of the welfare state. They have put trillions of dollars into expanding the federal role of government in every area of our lives, literally from cradle to grave, and they're using an infrastructure bill as a radical climate change agenda."
"I did see that our new president was on television at a little town hall. I remember he said there was no vaccine before he took office, which must have been news to many, because he'd already been vaccinated. The truth is, it's not about taking credit: the American people deserve the credit for responding to this pandemic."
"They've joined the woke chorus, accusing law enforcement – agencies across America – of systemic racism. You know I don't think I can say it better than [Sen. Tim Scott] last night. When Tim Scott said 'Brave police officers and black neighborhoods are no adversaries, we are family.' And let me join Tim Scott in saying from my heart that traveling this nation coast to coast as your vice president, America is not a racist country."
Pence also talked about the border, gun control, abortion, and a bunch of other issues that Democrats have wasted no time tackling.
After his speech, Pence hammered home his point with an epic social rant against critical race theory:
One thing's for sure, Pence has a plan in mind.
"We've got to guard our values ... by offering a positive agenda to the American people, grounded in our highest ideals. Now, over the coming months, I'll have more to say about all of that."
Oh that's definitely teasing a White House run.
