M&M'S adds new purple character "designed to represent acceptance and inclusivity"

It really is an honor and a privilege to be alive in such inclusive, purple times:

A new purple M&M has joined the bag!

"Purple" is the chocolate candy's first-ever female peanut M&M and its newest character for the first time in a decade, the brand announced Wednesday, Sept. 28.

With the new spokescandy working to "help more people feel they belong," Purple made her debut with a new song called "I'm Just Gonna Be Me," featuring an accompanying music video.

Purple's musical entrance into the candy world "celebrates all voices, encouraging people around the world to embrace their authentic selves," M&M's shared.

Oh, it's a "female peanut M&M." So — not to go on and on about it — it's...a female with nuts. I think the implication is quite clear here.

From the official Mars Candy statement:

Designed to represent acceptance and inclusivity...

Yeah...

The "music video" kinda drives the point home — it's a Broadway showtune in which a considerable portion of the human cast appears to be gay. Not a whole lot of subtlety to this art.

I don't have anything else to add to this, it all sort of speaks for itself, so I'll just go ahead and drop this truth bomb: Peanut butter M&Ms are the best and y'all all know it.

It's just the truth!
