Michigan professor who wrote book on disinformation calls First Amendment our "Achilles heel," stumps for more censorship

We all know what the word disinformation means in today's day and age: It essentially means any bit of information that disagrees with the mainstream narrative, even if it happens to be the truth.

Well, University of Michigan Prof. Barbara McQuade, a "legal analyst" who joined MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show" last night, has a bone to pick with not only disinformation, but the First Amendment itself.

Watch:

Actually, Rachel, I think we're more susceptible to it than other countries, and that's because some of our greatest strengths can also be our Achilles Heel. So, for example, our deep commitment to free speech in our First Amendment. It is a cherished right. It's an important right in democracy, and nobody wants to get rid of it, but it makes us vulnerable to claims that anything we want to do related to speech is censorship. Of course, the Supreme Court has held that all fundamental rights, even the right to free speech, can be limited as long as there is a compelling governmental interest and the restriction is narrowly tailored to achieve that interest. But I think any time someone tries to do anything that might limit free speech, people claim censorship.

Yeah, everybody loves the First Amendment and all, but when it comes to "our democracy," we just can't afford to have people believing that Covid most likely leaked form a lab, or that Ivermectin is a real medicine, or that the vaccine doesn't stop you from catching Covid, or that they were spying on the Trump campaign in 2016, or that the Hunter Biden laptop story is real, or that Ukraine is one of the most corrupt nations on the planet, or that Joe Biden will soon be replaced by an actual living human.

Our corrupt leaders will not be able to lead if people are allowed to spread this kind of disinformation.

This lady even wrote a book entitled "Attack from Within: How Disinformation is Sabotaging America" to push the censorship agenda.

They want to control us so bad.
