Museum of London buys infamous “Trump Baby” balloon to memorialize protests (and maybe a little to be sure Trump is remembered as a big, fat baby)

Remember that irreverent 20' tall Trump Baby balloon that has been making the rounds in protests the past couple of years? Well the Museum of London has just purchased the giant inflatable to become a part of an exhibit on protests and resistance.

The diaper clad, orange-skinned, baby blimp made its debut in London on the occasion of Trump's first presidential visit there in 2018, and has been showing up at different events worldwide ever since.

"By collecting the baby blimp we can mark the wave of feeling that washed over the city that day and capture a particular moment of resistance -- a feeling still relevant today …" said museum director Sharon Ament.

The blimp was created by British artist Matthew Bonner. In a statement on the museum's website, his team expressed their pleasure with their "baby" now taking up residence in what the museum calls "its final resting place."

" … [W]e're pleased that the Trump Baby can now be consigned to history along with the man himself … We hope the baby's place in the museum will stand as a reminder of when London stood against Trump …"

Trump being Trump, they may not get the last word. Nobody puts baby in a corner ... of a museum.
