Must watch: Christian elder speaks to York, Pennsylvania city council on behalf of the unborn
· Aug 19, 2023 · NottheBee.com

Alex Kocman is an Elder and a missions director at Faith Bible Fellowship Church in York, PA, and on Tuesday evening, he was able to turn his attention to his home city at a York City Council meeting where "conversion therapy," a term for Christian and other counseling that doesn't "affirm" transgenderism, was on the agenda.

Kocman wanted to speak to the liberal council on behalf of the unborn first, then on behalf of Christians who are being called bigots for affirming nature:

He begins by stating the simple, scientific, and reasonable facts about abortion.

Kocman is holding nothing back. Abortion is murder and his hometown is stained by the blood of the abortionists.

That's a powerful message.

But he's about to invoke even more authority:

As a Christian, I would implore you, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, it's the year 2023 Anno Domini, the Year of our Lord, he died and rose and is seated at the right hand of the Father and all governments and authorities, civil, and local, and state, city, and federal must give an account to him. Including myself, including each of the members of this council, the attendees here, we'll all give an account of our lives.

And I would implore you to take action, legislatively, bureaucratically, using whatever means are available, to bring this killing to an end, to bring this murder to an end, using levers of power in the government to protect the cause of life.

I know some of you profess to be believers here as well, so I would implore you to do that. There are lawful means available to scrutinize and to bring pressure upon this barbaric institution that is in our city.

Alex goes on to call for repentance and a restoration of justice for the unborn.

I know, this makes some of you uncomfortable, but a Christian stepping up and showing us what a faithful presence in public life looks like is a real encouragement.

People on that council needed to hear this message and be called to repentance for their wicked governance.

As an aside, Kocman did return to the floor to discuss "conversion therapy" as well. And you can guess that it was a similarly impactful speech.

We need more church leaders who are willing to publicly confront our governmental authorities with the truth of the gospel.
