Those 300 Texas National Guard soldiers are about to hold Eagle Pass like its the pass at Thermopylae.
To give you an idea of how quickly Texas has built this Forward Operating Base, construction started just over two months ago:
A total of 1,800 troops will be stationed at the 80-acre facility to protect the border. These first 300 troops are Phase 1. The next phase of the move-in process will happen two weeks from now with another 300 troops. Gov. Abbott says this deployment will continue until at least November, with the goal of increasing that number as needed.
Like I said, whatever political label you want to give this strategy, sign me up.
