"This detail"? Like the media was supposed to leave it out or something? A transgender former student shot up a Christian school and left a manifesto (which we still haven't seen) and you're blaming the "detail" of the shooter being transgender for causing harm to transgenders?
That would be as crazy as a Muslim terrorist shouting "Allahu Akbar" before killing a bunch of people and the legacy media saying "We just don't know what the motive was." Oh wait ... they do that too.

This is just incredible stuff. You would think a Christian 9-year-old shot up a Drag Queen Story Hour. This is appalling reporting and Jim Jones level gaslighting.
That last sentence is an outright lie. It is NOT unclear how police knew the suspect was transgender. They had her manifesto! Any of us with access to Twitter and two brain cells to rub together knew the shooter was transgender before the police said so. The shooter's social media profiles made it perfectly clear.

There are so many redactions because NBC is terrified of using a pronoun for this person, so they just keep using her name. If they were to accidentally misgender her, well, that would be literal violence!
