Never be either of these men

This video is receiving a lot of attention on the internet, so I thought I'd put in my two cents here.

A high school girls basketball coach is under investigation in Virginia after losing his cool during the closing seconds of a playoff loss.

This was Tom Rife's first season back as head coach of the girls team at Richlands High, and he had previously served as the school's athletic director.

It looks like a spectator behind the bench had been giving Rife an earful for quite some time. However, that's no excuse for this:

Yeeeeeeaaaahhhh, not a good look…

For either of these men.

First of all, Coach Rife should've definitely hit up that security guard and asked to have the spectator removed from the event, or at least sent to the top of the bleachers. That's what security guards are for. As the head coach, or any coach for that matter, you don't just go attacking people in the stands. You just can't lose your composure like that. It's inexcusable, and he's lucky dude didn't fight back.

Now, for our spectator. You are not the coach. You are a spectator. The decisions made on the court are the coach's decisions. If you want to have a say in what goes on down there, maybe sign up for a coaching job. But giving coach an earful of your probably worthless opinion when the game is on the line isn't going to help. At all. Especially if you're being condescending and acting like a sleezebag.

So while most of the blame here definitely falls on Coach Rife for losing his composure, I still think our guy in the stands deserves a little of it.

Moral of the story: Don't be either of these men.
