This Massachusetts Dem doesn’t want crisis pregnancy centers because his schools would have to pay more for special education if babies with birth defects aren't aborted

Ladies and gentlemen, I regret to inform you that in the year 2023 the eugenics movement is still very much alive.

Need proof?

Well, here you go.

Yes, and this isn't just some random Democrat either. Michael Hugo is the chair of the Framingham Democratic Committee and the director of policy and government affairs for the Massachusetts Association of Health Boards.

So this is kind of a big deal.

Michael Hugo, the chair of the Framingham Democratic Committee, argued in a city council meeting that crisis pregnancy centers are a danger to the community because their screening might not catch a birth defect, the result of which would be the live birth of an expensive-to-care-for disabled child.

This is eugenics, plain and simple.

The Framingham City Council had been discussing crisis pregnancy centers, which offer alternatives to abortion such as letting the child live, when Hugo made his eugenics comments.

Here's what he had to say:

Our fear is that if an unqualified sonographer misdiagnoses a heart defect, an organ defect, spina bifida or an encephalopathic defect that becomes a very local issue because our school budget will have to absorb the cost of a child in special education, supplying lots and lots of special services to children, who were born with the defect.

Essentially, if someone decides to visit a crisis pregnancy center, follow through with her pregnancy, and have the baby, it might accidentally come out with a disability. And Hugo doesn't want his city to have to pay for such nonsense.

This is so — I can't even think of words — like, this sounds like Hitler. It sounds like the eugenics movement. It sounds like people who don't find human life precious. It sounds disgusting.

Hugo faced overwhelming backlash for his comments, but it looks like his Democratic colleagues have his back on this one:

The Framingham Democratic Committee voted down a motion Sunday that included discussing the removal of its chair, Michael Hugo, at its March meeting.

The vote came down 11 in favor, 16 against and one abstaining after more than an hour of discussion over Hugo's remarks.

Seriously, they voted to keep him on as chair.

These people are sick.

Democrats are just a few small steps away from slipping right back into eugenics.

That is, if they ever stopped being eugenicists in the first place.
