Florida trolls harder than Texas with new bill that would "cancel" the Democratic party because of its ties to slavery

Texas threw down the gauntlet with the alleged boating accident losing all its citizens' guns. And the troll was pretty funny.

I challenged Florida to step up and show us what they've got.

Boy howdy, did they deliver.

A new bill introduced to the Florida legislature is beyond epic.

Republican Senator Blaise Ingoglia filed SB 1248 titled "The Ultimate Cancel Act," which would

immediately cancel the filings of a political party, to include its registration and approved status as a political party, if the party's platform has previously advocated for, or been in support of, slavery or involuntary servitude.

The bill does not directly mention the Democrat party, but it was the Democrat party of Florida that was the party that championed slavery during the Civil War.

Senator Ingoglia said,

For years now, leftist activists have been trying to ‘cancel' people and companies for things they have said or done in the past. This includes the removal of statues and memorials, and the renaming of buildings. Using this standard, it would be hypocritical not to cancel the Democrat Party itself for the same reason.

If the bill were enacted, the Democrats status as a political party would be immediately canceled in Florida.

And honestly what could the Marxist wokies do about it?

To fight it would mean they would have to sign on to approving of slavery, and dare I say it…Racism!

The Democrats could reregister, but it would have to be under a substantially different name.

The Florida Democratic Party knew what was up, without the bill even mentioning them remember, and issued the following statement:

"Presenting a bill that would disenfranchise 5 million voters is both unconstitutional and unserious. Under Ron DeSantis, Senator Ingoglia is using his office to push bills that are nothing more than publicity stunts instead of focusing on the issues that matter most to Floridians, such as reforming property insurance, addressing housing affordability, and combating climate change.

"The sooner DeSantis and his puppets in the legislature learn that Florida is a Democratic Republic and not a Banana Republic, the better it will be for all Floridians."

Notice there wasn't a single apology for the party's history of enslaving black people?

Someone call in the screaming blue-haired hordes of TikTok to cancel the Democrats!

Well played, Florida. The ball is back in your court, Texas.
