Alexis Hernandez was arrested in an Albuquerque home after Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to reports of gunfire and found two dead men at the residence.
One of the men was identified as the owner of the property.
According to NBC, Hernandez claimed he had to kill the owner in defense of another party abiding in the home: a cockroach.
Hernandez later allegedly told deputies that he also had received ‘an encrypted message in a cockroach' that he ‘needed to kill' the property owner, the warrant says. He added that the property owner allegedly did not like cockroaches.

Hernandez also said that he had heard creepy voices coming from the vents suggesting he kill the man before the man killed him.
After shooting both men, Hernandez went to his car, reloaded, grabbed his saber, then returned, shot the two men again, and stabbed one.

To make a crazy story worse, there were two children in the house that watched the whole scene go down. Hernandez said he had no intention of harming the children, but was still on the scene hanging out with them when police arrived.
Hernandez was charged with two counts of murder.
There has been no word, meanwhile, on the whereabouts of the cockroaches who hired the assassin.
