I know quite a few people who are still looking for a job, and you have to wonder how that can be when the Biden administration keeps assuring us that there are upwards of 8 million open job postings in the US.
Much like all the positive financial and crime data the Biden admin has lied about for four years, it turns out that a large percentage of those open jobs are fake.
According to a new analysis from the hiring firm Greenhouse, 18-22% of job postings on their site are fake. There are no interviews being conducted and no positions being filled for these jobs.
Its data showed the construction industry had the largest average ghost job rate out of all industries, with 38% of jobs being classified as ghost jobs. Art industry jobs came in second place at 34%, and legal jobs came in third with 29%. Greenhouse found that in the second quarter of 2024, almost 31% of corporate services job postings never led to anyone being hired.
Companies readily admit that they're posting fake jobs.
According to a survey by Resume Builder, almost everyone is doing it.
39% of hiring managers said their company posted a fake job listing in the past year. Among those who did, 'approximately 26% posted one to three fake job listings, 19% posted five, 19% posted 10, 11% posted 50, 10% posted 25, and 13% posted 75 or more.'
There were many reasons why they did it. Some did it for the same reason Biden's administration did: To make their company look like it was doing better than it was. Some post them just in case there is a unicorn out there with magical qualifications.
But the most frustrating reason was the final one:
Some hiring managers even admitted they post fake jobs to keep their own employees on their toes, saying they want workers to feel 'replaceable' so they will work harder.
