The TikTok ban has been coming for some time now, and unless the Supreme Court steps in, the app will be defunct in the United States come this weekend.
TikTok plans to shut its app for U.S. users from Sunday, when a federal ban on the social media app could come into effect, unless the Supreme Court moves to block it, people familiar with the matter said.
Xi Jinping right now:
The outcome of the shutdown would be different from that mandated by the law. The law would mandate a ban only on new TikTok downloads on Apple ... or Google ... app stores, while existing users could continue using it for some time.
TikTok is owned by ByteDance, a Chinese company that promises they have nothing at all to do with the CCP, and I'm sure they're telling the truth, despite the fact that the company is required by law to have a CCP advisory committee!
Many people on both sides of the American political aisle oppose the ban, many on free speech grounds, but the fight to stop the ban has come up empty so far.
Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court seemed inclined to uphold the law, despite calls from President-elect Donald Trump and lawmakers to extend the deadline.
Trump, whose inauguration comes the day after the law goes into effect, has said he should have time after taking office to pursue a 'political resolution' of the issue.
Meanwhile, Gen Z, unsure of how to survive in a world where they can't post dumb videos for the Chinese government to mine for data, is flocking to another Chinese app called RedNote, or "Little Red Book," depending on the translation.
The problem?
RedNote isn't made to make Americans dumber and more degenerate, so it doesn't allow anything related to the LGBT cult!
But never fear, there's a guide for how to be secretly gay:
Outside of the LGBT and commie stupidity, there seems to be a lot of cross-cultural engagement happening, and you can't help but smile at it:
Everyone loves to laugh at the Brits!
