New York City is so overcrowded with illegal immigrants that the city may soon start housing them in Central Park

New York City has since last year been absolutely waylaid by illegal immigration. It's gotten so bad that the city is now having to house immigrants in literal psychiatric facilities:

But that's not enough. They still don't have the space. And so they're resorting to even more drastic measures:

Hundreds of asylum seekers remain in place outside of the city's arrival intake center, where many have waited for days in wait of a place to sleep -- if there is one available. ...

Officials at City Hall confirmed migrants could soon be living up in other iconic areas of the city, including places like Central Park.

Sure, why not? I mean, it's only Central Park, arguably the most-visited park in the world, long a place marked by civic pride, family outings, sporting events, picnics. No reason you can't just start letting unvetted, desperate homeless men sleep there.

NYC Deputy Mayor Anne Williams-Isom said this week that, as of July 30, the city has "107,900 people in our care, including 56,600 asylum seekers." She claimed that "over 95,600 people have come through our system since last spring."

So you can understand why they're opting even for something as ill-advised as this. They are out of options. They got nowhere else to go.

One thing is very certain: The city is most definitely regretting styling itself as a "sanctuary" for illegal immigrants.

Probably shoulda thought of that one sooner, New York!
