Oregon breast cancer patient dumped by clinic after sending doctor a message criticizing the trans pride flag in the waiting room

Meet Marlene.

Marlene Barbara is a breast cancer patient who has a double mastectomy planned for August. She was being seen at the Richmond Family Medicine Clinic, part of Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), and noticed the transgender flag flying behind the receptionist's desk at the clinic.

Having been threatened by trans activists online before, Marlene was concerned about having the political, sexual flag of a radical ideology at the clinic. In 2022, she wrote her doctor this message on MyChart stating that the flag made her feel uncomfortable:

I have been threatened on Twitter by trans activists with rape and death — so it is daunting to go for medical treatment with that banner proclaiming that what I am, an adult human female, is a mere opt-in category for any gender non-conforming male and not a reality... May I please have a telephone appointment to discuss how I may access your medical care without walking under a banner that seeks to negate all I am?

Marlene then received this message from the clinic notifying her that she was being dumped for thoughtcrimes against the new state religion, effective July 29, 2023:

Effective immediately, you are discharged from receiving medical care at the Richmond Family Medicine Clinic. This action is being taken because of ongoing disrespectful and hurtful remarks about our LGBTQ community and staff

Please note that you are also now dismissed from all OHSU Family Medicine clinics, including Immediate Care clinics.

Is this the "tolerance" I keep hearing about?

The letter does not detail what "ongoing" comments Marlene made, but it should be noted that any criticism of the trans ideology - any at all - is often labeled "hate speech" by those in power (all the way up to the White House).

Marlene spoke to Reduxx about the experience and the anxiety it has caused her.

Barbera told Reduxx her "anxiety [is] through the roof," and that the experience had triggered her long-standing struggle with depression.

"I have severe chronic agitated depression since teen years," Barbera explains. "Now I have no primary care doctor and no where else to go. I have been made to feel like a worthless nothing."

Marlene noted what many of us have come to realize: That that gender movement is a religious cult that demands conformity... or else.

"Gender ideology is a religion. I do not subscribe to that religion. I would not force anyone to pray the rosary with me," she says. "The trans movement says a man is allowed to define being a woman by way of his feelings but that a woman is not allowed to define being a woman by way of her material reality. So really, it is a men's rights movement. Dangerous to women and children."

Libs of TikTok adds that Marlene was told she must attend some kind of "re-education" program and she refused to comply.

OHSU has not yet commented on Marlene's dismissal.

The woman behind Libs of TikTok, Chaya Raichik, says Marlene is now exploring legal options against the hospital.
