Perhaps the most surprising part of this whole fiasco is just how unsurprising it really is:
Students at a Brooklyn high school were kicked out of the classroom to make room for nearly 2,000 migrants who were evacuated from a controversial tent shelter due to a monster storm closing in on the Big Apple.
The city made the move amid concerns that a massive migrant tent at Floyd Bennett Field would collapse from torrential rains and gusting winds β packing them instead into the second-floor gym at James Madison High School five miles away.
Reports poured in from around New York on Tuesday:
It's worth pointing out, meanwhile, that the illegal immigrant problem in New York is so acutely bad that the mayor is suing the bus companies that are bringing the migrants there:
Note too that the "massive migrant tent" at Floyd Bennett Field was already hugely controversial in the city. No wonder: If you bring in thousands of illegal immigrants and just place them wherever you can fit them, local residents aren't really going to be happy.
A city spokesperson said the migrant families "will continue to be provided with essential services and support" during the chaotic process.
"The relocation will continue until any weather conditions that may arise have stabilized and the facility is once again fit for living," the city said.
This is coming to your cities soon, Americans, but it'd be really easy to stop if that guy in the Oval Office wanted it to.
