Nicki Minaj is now apparently a leading advocate for personal liberty when it comes to vaccine mandates so there's another mark for your 2021 bingo card

Nicki Minaj is not the celebrity that immediately comes to mind when you think of unflinching defenses of personal autonomy and medical freedom.

That's not to say she regularly expresses an opposition to those principles, only that she's spent most of her career rapping about thongs and liaisons with drug dealers.

Yet the Trinidadian rapper surprised the world this week when she came out firmly in defense of a much-maligned and endangered philosophy: medical freedom:

"Just pray on it & make sure you're comfortable with ur decision, not bullied."

Yes.

Meanwhile, this was the coverage from the clowns in the mainstream media:

Let's be honest: We can't immediately say that Minaj's story is accurate. Who knows why that individual experienced this, ah, unfortunate swelling? Statistically, it would seem to be the case that if you get the COVID vaccine you're unlikely to experience such unpleasant side-effects.

But the larger point still stands. Of course you shouldn't be bullied into any kind of momentous, consequential medical decision, be it a vaccine or anything else. Figure it out yourself. Talk it over with experts, read the research, discuss it with family and friends. And, of course, above all: pray.

I can't believe I'm saying this ... but thank you for the much-needed wisdom, Nicki Minaj!
